BioCentrum is a privately-owned biotechnology service and product provider. BioCentrum has been established in 2004 and its mission is to create a platform for its clients and partners in order to help them translate innovative discoveries into preclinical candidates with improved chances to reach the market, in the shortest amount of time possible.

BioCentrum also offers services in the field of protein chemistry, and possesses a unique expertise and experience in production of highly purified, active enzymes, inhibitors and other biologically active recombinant proteins. Moreover the company performs contract research as well as produces mouse monoclonal antibodies on a laboratory scale.

BioCentrum laboratory


BioCentrum laboratory is located in a 250 m2 fully equipped, modern facility that provides space essential for all analytical, biochemical, cell and chemistry assays. An experienced team and the latest, most advanced technical equipment warrant the highest possible quality.

Analytical lab:

  • LC-MS system consisting of UltiMate 3000 RSLC (Dionex) LC and Esquire HCT (Bruker Daltonics) MS.
  • HPLC system consisting of UltiMate 3000 Dual Gradient (Dionex), Multiplate reader Synergy 2 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader (BioTek Instruments Inc.) and 501 HPLC pump, 490E detector UV/VIS, Injector U6K (Waters)
  • 96-well UV-Vis and Fluorescence/ Luminescence Spectrophotometer (Shimadzu)

Biochemical lab:

  • Protein and peptide sequencer Procise 491 (ABI)

The laboratory is fully integrated with STARLIMS laboratory information management system both for control of the analytical equipment and for data reporting and processing. All the utilized devices and all software applications have up-to-date validation certificates. BioCentrum is expecting  a broad GLP certification for all laboratories and methods used in 2009.

Through cooperation with various research institutions we are able to perform dissolution profiles in different media using  standard ICH-approved eight-vessel heated dissolution apparatus with release station. BioCentrum is also able to perform 1D NMR with a resolution of 300 MHz up to 500 MHz. Upon special request 1D NMR with a resolution of 700 MHz may be performed, as well as 2D NMR in all mentioned resolutions if specifically required by a customer.
Moreover BioCentrum has ability to perform Xray powder diffraction for development and improvement of purification methods.
